Change
Yeah, yeah. I like changing things up. That goes for music and how things look, like this worship matters email. Enjoy the new look (for now).
Daylight Savings This Sunday
Remember to sleep in on the RIGHT side of the clock. We will lose an hour of sleep this Sunday. Turn your clocks forward.
Show Your Support for the Ottman's: Participate in MS Walk Participant/Sponser
Recently, Matt Ottman's (Christmas Light Show engineer) wife, Rachel, was diagnosed with MS. Imagine if one of us were in their shoes? In light of this, my family will be participating in a MS Walk to show our support and encouragement to Matt, Rachel, and their family. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from Walk MS 2008 to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. We are choosing to walk for those who sometimes can't. Click here to join our family and Rachel's team or donate to Rachel's team.
What's Your Musical Experience?
We all have a different set of musical experiences. Some rub shoulders with famous musicians. Others feel like they have no experience at all. So what role does experience play when it comes to musicians? Read more...
Photos from Trip
Check out some photos from the trip Nat, Daniel, and Jerry took to the Phillipines. It's good to have them back with us. Significant progress was made on the projects they undertook while they were there.
TBC Tech Takes ESPN Position
Paul Carr (tech) has taken a job as a Research Statistician with ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut. He will be leaving on March 9th, while his wife Heather will stay in Topeka to finish her school year teaching at Pauline South. Please pray for Paul as he begins a new adventure in a new mission field, and that they both will learn how to remain connected despite the great distance.
Weekend Feedback
Sometimes I get feedback, but never pass them on to the worship family at TBC. I'll start passing more of these on to you! An email that I got this week said..."I love it when songs go through my head all week long following the service!!! I love the music. Just wish it lasted longer each Sunday!"
Country Music Sunday Makes a Come Back
Some of you are jumping for joy. Others are groaning. Yes, the country music will back a return to the TBC weekend worship on March 16. Ya'll come now - ya hear.
Next Mass Vocal Rehearsal
The next Mass Vocal Group rehearsal will be Thursday, March 20 from 6:45pm to 8:00pm in preparation to lead worship for Easter Sunday, March 23.
All Singers Need the CD
Many of you already picked up the rehearsal CD with your individual vocal parts laid out. If you weren't able to sing this last time to pickup a rehearsal CD for Easter, then pick up a CD (located outside Nat's old office in the Mulvane building)...or click here to listen online. Learn your parts before rehearsal so we can spend time on some more fun stuff!
Next All Church Orchestra Rehearsal
The next All Church Orchestra rehearsal will be Saturday, April 12 from 9:30am to 11:00am in preparation to lead worship on Sunday, April 13. Music folders will be published about 3 weeks prior to our rehearsal and available for pickup.
Consider Being a Part of TBC's First Impressions
Do you enjoy people? Can you smile? If so, then consider being a part of TBC's first impressions team by being a door greeter. Email Doug Will if you'd be willing to help out.
What's For Easter?
I've been asked, so what's happening special at Easter. My reply is - Easter is already special. OK, I know what you mean. Are we doing a cantata? Another light show? What? While we aren't doing a special event, Easter Sunday itself is a weekend that many people decide to attend church when they typically might not. As a result, we will be doing some unique music for Easter and pour a lot of attention to that morning. Easter will be a special worship service - just like every worship service at TBC!
Where Do I Park On Easter?
Last year over 2,000 people came to TBC's service of worship on Easter. Numbers continue to go up since then, so Easter is going to be packed. Special seating in other locations with video feed are being set up...so we can accomindate people. But a whole other issue is parking. If you go to the library, you'll notice that the library employees park in a lot furthest away from the patron parking lot! Insteresting. They value the patron's parking spot. We will to. This Easter I'd like all participant to select a parking spot far away from the primo spots that Easter patrons will be using. Yes, I know some of you have gear that you will use. It would be a pain to lug that from four blocks away. So come drop of your gear, then park in a parking spot where Jesus would park.
